The farm is situated in southern Belize, Toledo District, just two minutes outside of the largest Mayan village of San Antonio on Crique Lagarto Road. Toledo is considered the birthplace of cocoa.
The farm is 14 acres, six acres are mature productive cocoa trees that are 25-30 years old which a life expectancy of another 50 years before replanting. An ongoing nursery will provide another 2,000 cocoa trees that will be planted in 2010 adding to the production of the farm. Various fruit trees, herbs, hardwood trees and medicinal plants are also found on the land. The farm is presently registered with the Toledo Organic Growers Association as an organic Fairtrade farm.
Present owners have built a cabin, outhouse, and other structures to house WOOFER volunteers that come worldwide to work on the farm. The farm boasts a new village water service and a natural spring. Bio-char and other innovative sustainable farming ventures on the farm has earned the farm international recognition and even a place on the Prince Charles Rainforest SOS site for rainforest sustainability work.
